The Belleville Police Service responded to 67 calls for service from December 2nd, 2020 at 5:00 a.m. to December 3rd, 2020 at 5:00 a.m.

Liquor Licence Act Arrests

Belleville, ON – On December 2nd, 2020, at 9:55 p.m. Police attended a Bridge Street West apartment building regarding a disturbance. Investigation revealed that two persons at that location were intoxicated and causing problems. As a result, a 40-year-old female and a 59-year-old male, both of Belleville were arrested for their own protection under Section 31(4) of the Liquor Licence Act and transported to Police headquarters where they were held until sober.

Request for Public Assistance

Belleville, ON - The Belleville Police Service is seeking the public’s assistance regarding a traffic accident that occurred on December 1st, 2020, at approximately 3:45 pm at the intersection of Front Street and Bridge Street East. The accident involved a motor vehicle and a pedestrian; and Police would like to speak with any eye witnesses to this accident. The Belleville Police Service would also like to extend their thanks and appreciation to the many members of the community who stopped and assisted the people involved in the accident. City Police also report a fairly steady 24-hour period ending at 5:00 a.m. on December 3rd, 2020.  Police responded to several incidents that ended peacefully through Police intervention. Those incidents included numerous noise complaints, disturbances, domestics, suspicious persons and vehicles, traffic complaints, neighbour and family disputes, and calls to assist ambulance.
