Drug Possession and Probation charges
Belleville ON- On the 20th of August 2021 at 6:00 p.m. Belleville Police and Ambulance were dispatched to the area of Catherine and Cedar Street regarding a male who had been seen by area neighbours riding a child’s scooter on the sidewalk down a hill at which point he had struck a tree. The male suffered minor injuries as a result of hitting the tree but was found to be intoxicated. Due to his intoxication level the male was arrested and was found to be in possession of a small amount of Fentanyl. The male was also found to be bound by a current probation order. As a result, 36-year-old Michael Gunn of Belleville was charged with possession of a Schedule 1 substance contrary to section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances act and failing to comply with his probation order contrary to section 733.1 of the Criminal Code of Canada. Gunn was released on an undertaking with a September 20th court date.
