The Belleville Police Service responded to 80 calls from August 19th 2021 at 5:00 a.m. to August 20th 2021 at 5:00 a.m.
Domestic Dispute
Belleville, ON – On August 19th 2021, shortly after 5:00 p.m., officers attended an east-end address regarding a domestic dispute. Upon arrival police learned that both persons involved were on conditions to not communicate with each other. As a result, a 36-year-old female from Belleville was charged with five counts of breaching a release order contrary to section 145(5)(a) of the Criminal Code, and will be held for a bail hearing on the 20th of August 2021, while a 32-year-old male from Trenton was charged with one count of breaching a release order contrary to section 145(5)(a) of the Criminal Code, he was released from custody with a court date of the 7th of September 2021. The names are not being released in order to protect the identity of the victim.
Collision
Belleville, ON – On the 19th of August 2021, at approximately 4:30 p.m., officers were called to the area of Dundas St. East and Bradgate regarding a single motor vehicle collision. No injuries were reported and the vehicle sustained moderate damage and had to be towed from the scene. No charges are are expected due to the road conditions at the time of the collision.
City Police also report a fairly steady 24-hour period ending at 5:00 a.m. on August 20th 2021. Police did respond to several incidents that ended peacefully with Police intervention. Those incidents included noise complaints, numerous disturbances, domestics, suspicious persons and vehicles, traffic complaints, neighbour and family disputes, and calls to assist ambulance.
