Break, Enter and Theft

Belleville, ON – On 01 August 2021 at 8:52 a.m., police responded to a break, enter and theft from a business on Maitland Drive. An investigation revealed unknown person(s) cut through an enclosed fence to gain entry.  Once inside the compound, locks were cut from two different vehicles.  A variety of tools, in excess of $5,000.00 were stolen.  This investigation is continuing, and police are asking anyone who may have information about this to please contact investigating officer Cst. Arrested on Warrants

Belleville, ON – On 01 August 2021 at 4:30 p.m., city police were notified by Central Hastings O.P.P. of the arrest of a female on Highway #37 near Boundary Road.  The investigation revealed the woman to have been wanted by Belleville Police on charges of:

  • Failing to provide the necessaries of life – contrary to section 215(2)(a)(i) of the criminal code.
  • Abandoning a child – contrary to section 218 of the criminal code.
  • Failing to attend court after having appeared – contrary to section 145(2)(b) of the criminal code.

The 31-year old resident of Tweed, Ontario was arrested and returned to the Belleville Police Service on the confirmed warrants.  She will appear via video before the Weekend and Statutory Holiday (WASH) Court on the morning of August 2nd 2021. 

On 01 August at 11:12 p.m., police observed a man riding a bicycle on Bridge Street West, believed to have been wanted on arrest warrants. The investigation also displayed an arrest warrant attached to the man from the Lennox and Addington O.P.P. for one count of Failing to comply with a probation order – contrary to section 733.1(1) of the criminal code.  The warrant was confirmed.  Police caught up with the man in the James Street area.

Timothy Allen Sharpe, 35-years of age of age of Carrying Place Ontario, was arrested without incident. He was transported to the Belleville Police Service where the warrants were processed.  Sharpe was released from custody on a Form 10 Undertaking, and is to appear in Belleville Court on September 16th 2021 at 09:00 a.m. on charges of:

  • Fail to attend for court – as per undertaking – contrary to section 145(4)(b) of the criminal code.
  • Fail to attend for fingerprints – as per undertaking – contrary to section 145(4)(b) of the criminal code.
  • Failing to attend court after having appeared – contrary to section 145(2)(b) of the criminal code.

Sharpe was also issued a Form 10 Undertaking to appear on September 14th 2021 at 09:00 a.m. at the Provincial Court in Napanee on the Lennox and Addington O.P.P. charge.
