The Belleville Police Service responded to 52 calls from August 14th 2021 at 5:00 a.m. to August 15th 2021 at 5:00 a.m.
Domestic Mischief
Belleville ON- On 13 August 2021, at 3:05 p.m., police received a call from a male stating that his ex had run over his foot with her vehicle after a heated exchange over property. Police had also received a call from the involved female who had a different version of the events. When police attended the male’s apartment, they were able to locate video footage from a nearby business which clearly showed the events. Police observed that the male had jumped on the hood of the female’s vehicle, and when she stopped, he grabbed her phone and broke it on the ground. Police spoke with the male, who initially was uncooperative with them when confronted with the true version of the events. The male then agreed to turn himself into police. The 33-year old Belleville man was arrested and charged with two counts of domestic mischief, and one count of disobeying a court order. He was released with a 27 September court date. His name is not being released at this time to protect the identity of the victim.
Unlawfully in a Residence
Belleville ON- On 14 August 2021, at 830 p.m., police attended a John Street address after the homeowners had returned and observed a female in their house. The homeowners called police, who quickly attended and arrested the female a short distance away. The female, 33-year-old Kristine Wendling, was charged with one count of unlawfully in a dwelling. She was released with a 21 October court date.
