Impaired Arrest

Belleville ON-On the 11th of August 2021 at 8:30 p.m., Belleville Police responded to a report of a possible impaired driver who had left an east end business.  The vehicle involved was located travelling in the west end of the city. The driver of the vehicle was found to be impaired by alcohol and arrested.  69-year-old Clyde Bishop of Quinte West was charged with operation while impaired contrary to section 320.14(1)(a) of the Criminal Code, operation while impaired with over 80mg blood alcohol concentration contrary to section 320.14(1)(b) of the Criminal Code.  Bishop was released with on an undertaking with a September 16th court date.

Domestic Leads to Multiple Charges

Belleville ON-on the 12th of August 2021 at 1:30 a.m. Belleville Police attended an east end apartment building for a report of a loud argument.  Officers arrived on scene and determined the incident was a domestic disturbance.  A 20-year-old female was arrested on scene for domestic assault contrary to section 266 of the Criminal Code and domestic mischief contrary to section 430(4) of the Criminal Code.  While attempting to arrest the female one of the officers was assaulted by the female.  She is charged with assault with intent to resist arrest contrary to section 270(1)(b) of the Criminal Code.  The female was transported to the hospital due to her behavior and while at the hospital assaulted another officer and is charged with assaulting a police officer contrary to section 270(1)(a) of the Criminal Code.  While still at the hospital the female assaulted a nurse and is additionally charged with assault contrary to section 266 of the Criminal Code.  Additionally, the female was currently at large on a court order and was breaching one of the release conditions.  She is additionally charged with failing to comply with a court contrary to section 145(5)(a) of the Criminal Code.  The female is being held for a bail hearing on the 12th of August 2021.
