The Belleville Police Service responded to 62 calls for service between the 26th of April 2020 at 5:00 a.m. and the 27th of April 2020 at 5:00 a.m.

Break & Enter, Mischief Under $5000

Belleville, ON – On the 26th of April 2020, city police arrested a 31-year-old Belleville resident for Break and Enter and Mischief Under $5000 in relation to an incident that occurred on the 25th of April 2020. 

On the 25th of April 2020 at approximately 8:30am, the accused broke into the locked gate to a local towing companies vehicle impound yard and removed his vehicle that had been seized by police a day prior for it being operated in the city by the accused who was a suspended driver and had no insurance on the vehicle. 

The accused, William McInnis was later released by police on his own recognizance and is scheduled to attend the Belleville Ontario Court of Justice to answer to the two criminal offences on June 25th 2020. 

Sexual Assault & Sexual Interference Warrant

Belleville, ON – On the 26th of April 2020, Belleville City Police officers attended the Guelph Police Service after being notified that the Guelph Police arrested a 48-year-old male on an outstanding Belleville Police warrant.  The accused was wanted by the Belleville Police for Sexual Assault and Sexual Interference charges stemming from an investigation back in 2016.  The accused was transported back to the Belleville Police Service where he is scheduled to appear before a Justice for a Show Cause Hearing today, April 27th 2020. 

The name of the accused is not being released to protect the integrity & identity of the victim in this matter.
