The Belleville Police Service responded to 65 calls for service between the 24th of April 2020 at 5:00 a.m. and the 25th of April 2020 at 5:00 a.m.

Motor Vehicles Failed to Stop for Police

Belleville, ON – On the 25th of April 2020 at 1:39 a.m. police officers attempted to stop a vehicle in the West end of Belleville. The white Concorde failed to stop for the police and sped away. Officers did not pursue the vehicle out of public safety reasons. The vehicle was later recovered in the West end abandoned. The investigation is still on-going.

Belleville, ON - On the 25th of April 2020, at approximately 3:12 a.m. police officers attempted to stop a blue Chrysler 300 in the East end for not having any insurance on the vehicle. The vehicle failed to stop for the officers who did not pursue given the nature of the offence and the risk to public safety. The vehicle was last seen travelling Westbound on Highway 401. The investigation is still on-going.

Warrants

Belleville, ON - On the 24th of April 2020, at approximately 10:43 p.m., police observed a male known to them walking on North Front St. Officers were aware that male had warrants out for his arrest for robbery, weapons dangerous and breach of probation. Forty-One-year-old Joseph Stacey was held for a bail hearing on the 25th of April 2020 to answer to the charges.
