Business Break and Enter
Belleville, ON – On April 17th 2020 at 12:05 p.m., police were called to a business on Bridge Street East for a report of a break in. The investigation revealed a rear entrance to the business had been tampered with, and entry gained by unknown suspect(s). This had occurred between April 16th at 6:30 p.m. and April 17th at 11:00 a.m. Property, including oriental rugs valued at approximately $800.00 was stolen. Thefts from Garages
Belleville, ON – On April 17th 2020 at 12:37 p.m., police were called to a residence on the West side of the city for a reported theft from a garage. The complainant advised police that unknown suspect(s) entered her unlocked garage between 11:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. An 18-speed mountain bike, described as black and green in colour, was stolen. The investigation is continuing, and police are asking anyone with information to please contact investigating officer Cst. On April 17th 2020 at 6:27 p.m., police were called to a home on the East side of the city for another reported theft from a garage. A homeowner discovered his garage had been broken into within the last day. Stolen was a floor jack and two jack-stands. The property has an estimated value of $600.00. Man Arrested for Threats
Belleville, ON - On April 17th 2020 at 5:18 p.m., police were called to a bank on Front Street for a report of a man threatening a woman. The man allegedly threatened violence against the woman if she did not provide transportation for him. Police quickly located the man and arrested him. Forty- three year old Mark Justin Ferguson of Belleville, was taken into custody for uttering threats to cause bodily harm. He was released a short time later on an undertaking with conditions to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice on July 2nd.
City Man Arrested for Numerous Charges
Belleville, ON – On the early morning of April 18th 2020 at 3:52 a.m., police attended to an unwanted person call on the south-west side of the city. Attending officers recognized a male, who was also the focus of an earlier break-in to a home the day prior. Police arrested and charged 49-year old Terry Douglas Cheverie, and took him into custody. Cheverie has been charged with breaking and entering a dwelling house, mischief – under five thousand dollars, being unlawfully in a dwelling house, and two counts of failing to comply with probation orders. Cheverie was released on an undertaking to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice on July 9th on all charges.
