City Man Arrested at Domestic Occurrence
Belleville, ON – On March 31st 2020 at 10:38 a.m., police were called to a residence in the Albion Street and Pine Street area. An initial report stated the man to be in breach of an Undertaking he was earlier released on, by communicating with a named person in the Undertaking. The 38-year old city man was arrested for Failing to comply with a condition of an undertaking contrary to section 145(4)(a) of the Criminal Code. He was released again with a court date set for June 8th 2020 in the Ontario Court of Justice. His name is not being released in order to protect the identity of the victim.
City Man Arrested after Domestic Disturbance; Police Pursuit
Belleville, ON – On March 31st 2020 at 1:14 p.m., police arrived at a Dundas Street East residence for a report of a domestic disturbance. An investigation revealed a man to be breaching several conditions from an earlier interim-judicial release he was on. The man, located in a vehicle, and attempting to drive away in a dangerous manner, was subsequently stopped by a police vehicle. Both vehicles were moderately damaged, and towed from the location. The 23-year old man was taken into custody after being brought under control by a conducted-energy weapon. He was transported to the Belleville Police Service and held for a bail hearing on numerous domestic-related and criminal driving offences. City Man Arrested for Numerous Offences; Re-arrested
Belleville, ON – On March 31st 2020 at 3:33 p.m., police were called to an area on the central-West side of the city for a report of a suspicious man. An investigation began, and information was provided of the man urinating in public, and tampering with a gas can along an area of the CN tracks on Geddes Street. The man was located in the area of Alhambra Square. He was arrested and taken into custody. The man was released on an Undertaking charged with: Mischief – under $5,000.00 contrary to section 430(4) of the Criminal Code (2 counts), committing an indecent act contrary to section 173(1) of the Criminal Code, failing to comply with a condition of a probation order contrary to section 733.1(1) of the Criminal Code, and entering a premise where entry prohibited under the Trespass to Property Act. He was released from custody on an Undertaking on all charges with conditions and a court appearance date set for June 4th in the Ontario Court of Justice. At 10:18 p.m., police were called to the Front Street area for reports of a man chasing, and trying to fight with others. Police quickly responded, and re-arrested the same man on a further count of failing to comply with a condition of a probation order. City man Jarrod Cameron Brinkert, 33 years of age, was taken back into custody and held for a bail hearing.
City Man Arrested for Domestic Assault; Assault with a Weapon
Belleville, ON – On March 31st 2020 at 4:03 p.m., police were notified of a domestic situation which had occurred in December of 2019. Further investigation revealed that a city man had assaulted a female, causing serious injury with a weapon. A 23-year old city man was later taken into custody on charges of assault causing bodily harm and assault with a weapon. His name is not being released in order to protect the identity of the victim, and he has been released on an undertaking with conditions and a court date in June. This investigation into this matter is continuing.
