Total calls for service – Belleville Police responded to 95 calls for service in the 24-hour period beginning at 5:00 am on the 16th of February, 2023 to 5:00 am on the 17th of February, 2023. 

Break and Enter, Arrested on Warrants

Belleville ON - On Thursday, February 16th, 2023, at approximately 10:20 AM, Belleville Police received a report of a break-and-enter to a business on North Front Street that occurred overnight.  Police reviewed video footage of the break-and-enter and the officer was able to identify the male from previous dealings. At approximately 3:00 PM, the officer located the male from the break and enter at another address on North Front Street and arrested him. At that time the accused was also found to have outstanding warrants with Belleville Police for mischief and failing to attend court. 50-year-old Belleville resident, David Robertson, was arrested, charged, and held for a show cause hearing on the 17th of February 2023. At that hearing, Robertson was released with a court date of the 2nd of March 2023.

Failure to Comply with Release Order

Belleville ON - On Thursday, February 16th, 2023, at approximately 4:25 PM, Belleville Police received a call from a concerned citizen regarding two persons having an altercation in the west end of the city.  Upon police locating the individuals, it was found that one of the persons was on a release order with conditions not to be around the other.  A 27-year-old Belleville resident was arrested and held for a show cause hearing for failing to comply with release order. The name of the accused is being withheld to protect the identity of the victim.
