Total calls for service – Belleville Police responded to 219 calls for service over a 72-hour period beginning at 5:00 am on the 23rd of September, 2022, to 5:00 am on the 26th of September, 2022.

Fail to Remain

On the 24th of September, 2022, at 12:49 am, Belleville Police responded to a motor vehicle collision at the corner of Sidney Street and Moira Street, West Belleville, Ontario.  Officers arrived on the scene and were advised that one of the vehicles fled the scene, and the driver of the second vehicle had fled on foot.  Police were able to locate one of the drivers, a 28-year-old Belleville, Ontario female who was charged with Carless driving, Fail to remain and driving without a license in accordance with the Highway Traffic Act.  The motor vehicle collision investigation is continuing; anyone with information is asked to contact the Belleville Police Service.

Warrant

On the 25th of September, 2022, at 12:32 am, Belleville Police were on general patrol when they noticed a vehicle with a headlight.  Officer spoke with the driver and observed a female passenger known to police to have outstanding warrants for Fail to Attend Court. As a result, 35-year-old Cynthia Newnham, of no fixed address, was arrested for the warrant and held for a show cause hearing.

On the 25th of September 2022 at 10:30 pm, Belleville Police responded to a motor vehicle collision on Blessington Road, Belleville, Ontario, involving a white Dodge pickup truck and a hydro pole. Shortly after, a second call was received for a white pickup truck in the ditch on Bronk Road, Belleville, Ontario.  Police arrived on the scene, and the driver had fled.  An extensive search was conducted, and police were unable to locate the driver.  Anyone with any information about the motor vehicle collision is asked to contact Constable Ben Walden at 613-966-0822 ex 4230. or email bwalden@bellevilleps.ca.
