Total calls for service – Belleville Police responded to 77 calls for service over a 24-hour period beginning at 5:00 am on the 21st of September, 2022, to 5:00 am on the 22nd of September, 2022.

Thefts

On September 20, 2022, at 9:38 am, Belleville Police attended a local scrap metal yard in regards to recent sewer grate thefts in the city of Belleville. Investigation into the thefts has led to the arrest of 44-year-old Adam Karns of Belleville, Ontario, for two counts of Possession of Stolen Property, Mischief under $5000.00, Mischief endangering life, and theft under $5000.00.  KARNS was later released with a court date of October 20th 2022.

Mischief to Vehicle

On the 21st of September, 2022, Belleville Police received a report of mischief to a vehicle.  Sometime overnight, from the 20th to the 21st of September, an unknown suspect damaged a vehicle on Bridge Street West Belleville, Ontario.  The Belleville Police request that anyone with information contact Constable Cleary-Porritt at 613-966-0882 ext 4226 or Quinte Crime Stoppers.

Arrest on Warrants

On the 21st of September, 2022, a 40-year-old Belleville, Ontario, male attended the Belleville Police Service and turned himself in on an arrest warrant for failure to comply with a release order. The accused was later released with a court date of October 17th, 2022. As the charges are intimate partner violence-related, the accused’s name is not being released to protect the victim’s identity.
