Total calls for service – Belleville Police responded to 80 calls for service over a 24-hour period beginning at 5:00 am on the 27th of June, 2022, to 5:00 am on the 28th of June, 2022.

 Breach of Release order / Breach of Probation

On the 28th of June, 2022, at approximately 1:51 am, Belleville Police officers conducted a traffic stop in the east end of the city.  During the traffic stop, officers located a 32-year-old male who was on a release order to remain in his residence 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  The male was also on two probation orders to not be around a female in the vehicle. Upon further investigation, officers also discovered that a 32-year-old female was on release order to remain in her residence between the hours of 10:00 pm and 6:00 am.  The male and female were subsequently arrested for breaching their release orders, and the male was further charged with breach of his probation. Both were held for a bail hearing on the 28th of June, 2022.

Mischief

On June 28th, 2022, at 1:59 am, Belleville Police were called to an east end location regarding a male who had broken the glass on a bus stop shelter.  Officers attended in the area and located the male lying on the sidewalk, next to the bus shelter.  As a result, 19-year-old Prince Edward County, Ontario resident Brayden Terpstra was arrested for Mischief and transported to Belleville Police Service.  He was held until sober and later released with a court date of August 4th, 2022.

Drugs and Breach of Probation

On June 27th, 2022 at 11:44 pm officers were called to a downtown residence regarding threats.  Police spoke with the complainant who advised a 39-year-old male was causing problems in her residence and wanted him removed.  Police investigation revealed that the male was on a release order with conditions to remain in his residence with his surety between 11:00 pm and 7:00 am.  The male was arrested for breaching his release order. As a result of a search incident to arrest a small quantity of fentanyl was located.  The male was subsequently charged with breaching his release order and possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking.  He was held for a bail hearing on June 28th, 2022.
