Total calls for service – Belleville Police responded to 211 calls for service over a 72-hour period beginning at 5:00 am on the 24th of June, 2022, to 5:00 am on the 27th of June, 2022.

Domestic Assault

 On the 24th of June, 2022, at 9:23 pm Belleville Police were called to the east end of Belleville for the report of a physical altercation between two parties.  As a result of an investigation into the altercation, a 24-year-old Belleville, Ontario, woman was arrested and charged with Domestic Assault.  The woman was later released with a court date in August. The name of the accused is not being released to protect the identity of the victim.

Attempted Robbery

On the 24th of June, 2022, at 6:26 pm Belleville Police were called to the area of Front and Dundas Street Belleville, Ontario for a report that a male had been attacked while riding his scooter.  An unknown assailant had attempted to knock the male off the scooter and steal it.  The victim received minor injuries.  Police continue to gather information about this attack and ask anyone who has information to call Belleville Police at 613-966-0882 or Quinte Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

Robbery

On the 25th of June, 2022, at 1:20 am, Belleville Police were called to the rear of a restaurant on North Front Street, Belleville, Ontario, for a male who reported that he had been pepper-sprayed and robbed.  An unknown suspect had sprayed the male and fled with his cash.  The victim was transported to the hospital by paramedics.  Minor injuries were reported.  Police are seeking any witnesses to the robbery.  If you have any information that could help, please contact the Belleville Police at 613-966-0882 or Quinte Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

Mischief

On June 25, 2022, at 9:25 am, Belleville Police received a report of a mischief to construction equipment in the east end of the city.  The complainant reported that sometime overnight on the 24th to 25th of June, unknown suspect(s) caused damage to excavating equipment.  Police request anyone with information to contact the Belleville Police Service non-emergency line at 613-966-0882 or Quinte Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477

Breach of Probation

On the 27th of June, 2022, at approximately midnight, Belleville Police officers conducted a traffic stop in the north end of the city.  During the traffic stop, officers located a male hiding in the back seat of the vehicle who was on Probation conditions not to be around the driver of the vehicle.  As a result, a 28-year-old Belleville, Ontario resident was arrested on four counts of Fail to Comply with Probation Order and held for a bail hearing on the 27th of June, 2022

Warrants

On the 26th of June, 2022, Belleville Police were called to a business on Bell Boulevard regarding a male known to be wanted by Belleville Police for Failure to attend Court.  Upon arrival, Police identified and arrested 35-year-old Belleville, Ontario resident David Ashley.  Ashley was held for a show cause hearing on the 27th of June, 2022.
