Total calls for service – Belleville Police responded to 157 calls for service over a 72-hour period beginning at 5:00 am on the 18th of June, 2022, to 5:00 am on the 20th of June, 2022.

Breach of Release Order

On the 17th of June, 2022, at 6:38 am, Belleville Police were contacted to attend a residence on Bridge Street East Belleville, Ontario, regarding a resident calling for help from a second-story window. Upon arrival, Belleville Police discovered a female that was released only thirty-eight minutes prior from Police custody with a release condition not to be at the address.  As a result, Belleville Police arrested and charged thirty-nine-year-old Belleville, Ontario resident Virginia MacDonald with Fail to Comply with Undertaking and Break and Enter. MacDonald was held for a show cause hearing on the 17th of June, 2022.

Arrest on Warrants

On the 18th of June 2022 at 2:46 pm, Belleville Police observed a male riding a bike who was known to have warrants for failing to attend court, unauthorized possession of a firearm, careless use of a firearm, possession of prohibited or restricted firearm, and fail to comply with probation. As a result, thirty-five-year-old Belleville, Ontario resident Douglas McGregor was arrested for the warrant and held for a show cause hearing on the 19th of June 2022.

Weapons

On the 18th of June 2022 at 4:05 pm, Belleville Police responded to Front Street Belleville, Ontario, in regards to a female threatening an individual with a weapon. Belleville Police, after a brief investigation, arrested and charged thirty-seven-year-old Kristy McNeil of no fixed with assault with a weapon and weapons dangerous. McNeil was released with a court date of the 28th of July 2022. There were no injuries reported.

Warrants

On the 19th of June 2022, at 830 am, a Belleville police officer on general patrol stopped a vehicle in the area of North Park Street and College Street in Belleville, Ontario.  A check of the driver confirmed that he was a suspended driver and was wanted on an outstanding warrant for taking a motor vehicle without consent and two counts of breaching his probation order.  As a result, twenty-six-year-old Tyler Ruttan of Belleville, Ontario, was arrested for the warrant and later released with a court date of the 21st of July 2022. 

Warrants – Shop Lifting

On the 19th of June 2022, at 2:30 pm, a Belleville Police officer on general patrol observed a female walking on Pinnacle Street Belleville, Ontario who they knew was currently wanted.  It was confirmed that the female had an outstanding warrant for failing to comply with a release order.  In addition, grounds existed for the female for shoplifting incident two days prior.  As a result, the forty-three-year-old Belleville, Ontario resident was arrested and held for a show cause hearing on the 20th of June 2022.

Warrants

On the 19th of June, 2022, at 5:30 pm Belleville Police observed a motor vehicle being operated by a female wanted on warrants. A vehicle stop was conducted, and the female was arrested on the outstanding warrant for breaching her conditional sentence order.  As a result, thirty-year-old Kayla Parks of Belleville, Ontario, was held for a show cause hearing on the 20th of June, 2022.

Breach of Release Conditions

On the 19th of June 2022 at 11:30 pm, Belleville Police attended a residence in the west end of the city regarding a well-being check for the occupants.  Officers checked the home and located a male hiding inside.  A check of the male confirmed that he had been released three days earlier on an undertaking on domestic-related charges and was on conditions not to be at the residence or communicate with the occupants.  As a result, the thirty-five-year-old Belleville, Ontario resident was charged with two counts of breaching his release conditions and was held for a bail hearing on the 20th of June, 2022.
