Total calls for service – Belleville Police responded to 76 calls for service over a 24-hour period beginning at 5:00 am on the 14th of June, 2022 to 5:00 am on the 15th of June, 2022.

Mischief

On the 6th of June 2022 at 3:03 pm, Belleville Police attended an address on Plaza Court Belleville, Ontario, regarding a mischief. A male had jumped on a car and broke the windshield. After investigating the incident on the 13th of June 2022 at 9:11 pm, Belleville Police arrested thirty-five-year-old Belleville, Ontario male Matthew Reid for Mischief and Criminal Harassment. Reid was released with a court date of the 14th of July 2022.

Arrest on Warrants

On the 15th of June 2022, at 1:08 am, Belleville Police observed a male known to be wanted by Belleville Police. As a result, forty-year-old Belleville, Ontario resident Joel Mathlin was arrested on warrants for Failing to attend Court and Forcible Confinement. Mathlin was released on an undertaking with a July 14th, 2022 court date.

Domestic Assault

On the 14th of June 2022, Belleville Police responded to a domestic dispute on Cascade Boulevard in Belleville, Ontario. Upon arrival, police spoke to the victim, who indicated that she had been assaulted by her partner. As a result, Belleville Police arrested a thirty-five-year-old Belleville, Ontario male on the scene and charged him with one count of assault. The male was later released with a court date of the 18th of July 2022. There were no injuries reported. The male’s name is not being reported to protect the victim’s identity.
