Break and Enter

A call to a north end business led to the arrest of a 34-year-old Belleville man on multiple charges early Tuesday.

Police were dispatched to the location shortly after 5:30 a.m. for a report of an unknown male observed between trailers on the property, who was believed to be attempting to break into the business.

The male was arrested at the scene and charged with possession of break-in instruments and three counts of failing to comply with probation. He was held for a bail hearing.

Looking to identify suspect

Police are looking to identify a suspect after the theft of a number of credit cards from a vehicle parked at Zwick’s Park earlier this month led to thousands in dollars of illicit charges at area businesses.

On April 10, 2023 around 5:00 p.m. police took a report of the theft of various credit cards from a vehicle parked in the public area of the park. In the hours following the theft the cards were used a number of business locations across the city, accumulating upwards of $10,000 in charges.

Anyone with information about the identity of the male is asked to call police or Crime Stoppers. Information can be provided to Crime Stoppers anonymously by calling 613-969-8477 or by visiting quintecrimestoppers.ca
