UPDATE: Point Anne Road Incident

On October 19th, 2022, at approximately 1:30pm, the Belleville Police received information of a domestic in progress on Pointe Anne Road, possibly involving a firearm.  Numerous police units attended the location and information was received that a possible victim was inside being held by a suspect with a firearm. It was also known to the police that the male suspect involved in this incident had two outstanding warrants for breaching his probation.

Members of the Belleville Police Service’s Emergency Response Unit, K9 Unit and Negotiators attended the scene to bring the situation to a peaceful conclusion.  The incident lasted approximately three hours and concluded with one male being taken into custody by members of the Emergency Response Unit and the K9 Unit without incident.  Members of the Belleville Police Service’s Criminal Investigation Division took over the investigation. 

As a result of the investigation, it was determined that no firearm was involved in this occurrence and a 31-year-old female from Belleville was charged with Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance, (Methamphetamine), and Obstruct Police.  The female accused was released on her own recognizance and will attend court on November 14th, 2022, to answer to the charges.  A 37-year-old Belleville man was charged with Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance, (Methamphetamine), and Assault with a Weapon.  The male accused was held in custody and will appear in court on October 24th, 2022, to answer to his charges.
