Total calls for service – Belleville Police responded to 222 calls for service over a 72-hour period beginning at 5:00 am on the 30th of September, 2022, to 5:00 am on the 3rd of October, 2022.

Weapons and Drug related charges

On the 23rd of August 2022, just after midnight, Belleville Police attended an apartment building on Charlotte Street, Belleville, Ontario, regarding a home invasion during which the suspects brandished firearms. The three masked suspects forced their way into an apartment within the building and robbed one of the occupants before fleeing the scene.

In September 2022, search warrants were executed for a residence in Belleville, Ontario and one in Gilmour, Ontario. During the execution of the search warrants, two handguns, ammunition, illegal drugs, drug trafficking materials and stolen property were seized.

As a result of the investigation and Search warrants, the following individuals were arrested and charged:

28-year-old Cole Westin James Robinson of Belleville, Ontario, was charged with:

  1. Using a firearm in a careless manner
  2. Robbery with a disguise
  3. Three counts of pointing a firearm
  4. Possession of a handgun for the purpose of committing an offence
  5. Possess a handgun without being the holder of a licence
  6. Break and enter
  7. Using a firearm to commit a robbery
  8. Mischief
  9. Careless storage of a firearm
  10. Careless storage of ammunition
  11. Possession of a firearm dangerous to the public
  12. Possession of ammunition dangerous to the public
  13. Possession of a loaded handgun
  14. Possession of heroin for the purpose of trafficking
  15. Possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking
  16. Possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking
  17. Possess a firearm while prohibited
  18. Breach of probation
  19. Possession of firearm and ammunition without a licence
  20. Possession of property obtained by crime

33-year-old Trevor Steven Cox of Belleville, Ontario, was charged with:

  1. Using a firearm in a careless manner
  2. Robbery with a disguise
  3. Three counts of pointing a firearm
  4. Possession of a handgun for the purpose of committing an offence
  5. Possess a handgun without being the holder of a licence
  6. Break and enter
  7. Using a firearm to commit a robbery

41-year-old Christopher Ernest Derrett of Belleville, Ontario, was charged with:

  1. Using a firearm in a careless manner
  2. Robbery with a disguise
  3. Three counts of pointing a firearm
  4. Possession of a handgun for the purpose of committing an offence
  5. Possess a handgun without being the holder of a licence
  6. Break and enter
  7. Using a firearm to commit a robbery
  8. Mischief
  9. Four counts of possessing a firearm while prohibited

21-year -old Katie Lynn Casselman of Belleville, Ontario, was charged with:

  1. Careless storage of a firearm
  2. Careless storage of ammunition
  3. Possession of a firearm dangerous to the public
  4. Possession of ammunition dangerous to the public Section
  5. Possession of a loaded handgun
  6. Possession of heroin for the purpose of trafficking
  7. Possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking
  8. Possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking

All four were held in custody.

Traffic Stop Leads to Firearms and Drug Related Charges

On the 30th of September 2022, at 6:30 p.m., Belleville Police Officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Dundas Street East and Georgian Court in Belleville, Ontario. Investigation revealed that the driver of the vehicle was a suspended driver. Upon further investigation, police observed a large quantity of marijuana in plain view and a loaded 9MM handgun. As a result of the traffic stop and observations by police, the following individuals were arrested and charged:

24-year-old Kieear Milligan of Scarborough, Ontario, was charged with:

  1. Possession for the purpose of trafficking - Cocaine
  2. Possession of property obtained by crime
  3. Possession of weapons for a dangerous purpose
  4. Transport firearm, weapon in a careless manner
  5. Unauthorized possession of a firearm,
  6. Possess firearm knowing possession is unauthorized,
  7. Unauthorized possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle,
  8. Possess a restricted firearm
  9. Tampering with a serial number of a firearm

54-year-old Randy Read of Quinte West, Ontario, was charged with:

  1. Possession for the purpose of trafficking - Cocaine
  2. Possession of property obtained by crime
  3. Possession of weapons for a dangerous purpose
  4. Transport firearm, weapon in a careless manner
  5. Unauthorized possession of a firearm,
  6. Possess firearm knowing possession is unauthorized,
  7. Unauthorized possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle,
  8. Possess a restricted firearm
  9. Tampering with a serial Number of a firearm
  10. Care or control of a vehicle with cannabis readily available
  11. Drive suspend – Highway Traffic Act

A 15-year-old Scarborough, Ontario youth was charged with:

  1. Possession for the purpose of trafficking - Cocaine
  2. Possession of property obtained by crime
  3. Possession of weapons for a dangerous purpose
  4. Transport firearm, weapon in a careless manner
  5. Unauthorized possession of a firearm,
  6. Possess firearm knowing possession is unauthorized,
  7. Unauthorized possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle,
  8. Possess a restricted firearm
  9. Tampering with a serial number of a firearm
  10. Two counts of fail to comply with a probation order
  11. Fail to comply with release order
  12. Obstruct Police

The name of the youth is not being released in accordance with the Youth Criminal and Justice Act.

All three were held for a show cause hearing on the 1st of October, 2022.

Arrest on warrants

On the 30th of September 2022, at 1:45 p.m., Belleville Police observed a male who was known to them to be wanted on outstanding warrants from the Belleville Police Service for:

  1. Four counts of operation while prohibited
  2. Three counts of possession of property obtained by crime Over $5000
  3. Two counts of theft of motor vehicle
  4. Possession of property obtained by crime Under $5000

As a result, 30-year-old Jamie Holmes of Belleville, Ontario, was arrested for the warrants and held for a show cause hearing on the 1st of October, 2022.

Break and Enter

On the 2nd of October 2022 at 11:00 am, Belleville Police responded to multiple motion alarms from a business on Davy Road, Belleville, Ontario.  Officers arrived and determined that the business had been entered.  While on the scene, officers observed a male exiting the building through a side door. Investigation revealed that the male had broken into the building.  As a result, the 37-year-old Belleville, Ontario, male was charged with break and enter and being in possession of break-in tools.  The male is being held for a bail hearing on the 3rd of October, 2022.

Intimate Partner Assault

On the 2nd of October 2022 at 10:00 pm, Belleville Police responded to a west-end apartment building regarding a disturbance.  Officers arrived on the scene and determined that an assault had occurred during an argument.  As a result of the investigation, a 53-year-old Belleville, Ontario male was arrested and charged with Intimate partner assault.  The male was later released with a court date of the 7th of November, 2022. As this is an intimate partner-related assault, the male’s name is not being released to protect the victim’s identity
