Total calls for service – Belleville Police responded to 91 calls for service over a 24-hour period beginning at 5:00 am on the 3rd of August, 2022, to 5:00 am on the 4th of August, 2022.

Break and Enter

On the 3rd of August, 2022, at about 10:00 am, a business owner on Front Street was opening and discovered that a suspect had entered the store and stolen money.  The suspect was captured on security cameras.  Later that day, officers observed the suspect nearby.  As a result, a 43-year-old Belleville, Ontario male was arrested for Break and Enter, Theft, Possession of Stolen Property and four counts of Breach of Probation. A large quantity of cash was recovered.  The suspect has a bail hearing on the 4th of August, 2022.

Liquor License and Control Act

On the 3rd of August, 2022, at 8:30 pm, Belleville Police and Paramedics were called for a significant disturbance on Pine Street Belleville, Ontario.  Police located a highly intoxicated 16-year-old youth that was out of control at the scene.  He was arrested and transported to the Belleville Police Service cells, where he was held until sober enough to care for himself.

About an hour later, a 17-year-old female attended the Belleville Police Service, demanding to see her boyfriend, that had been arrested.  The female was also intoxicated and uncooperative with the police.  When she refused to leave the station, she was arrested.  This youth also had a ½ full bottle of liquor with her when she arrived to confront the police.  The female was held in cells until sober. The two youths were charged with several Liquor License Control Act offences.
