Motor Vehicle Collision/ Impaired

On May 17th, 2022, at 10:40 pm, Belleville Police were called regarding a motor vehicle collision- fail to remain at MacDonald Avenue and Bridge Street East Belleville, Ontario. The suspect’s vehicle failed to remain at the scene. A short time later, Police located the vehicle at the owner’s address. Investigation into the collision led to the arrest of forty-four-year-old Jeffrey Norton of Belleville, Ontario, for Impaired Operation, Operation while impaired over 80 of the Criminal Code of Canada, and Fail to Remain at an accident under the Highway Traffic Act.  Norton was later released with a court date of June 16th, 2022.

Assault with Weapon

On May 17th, 2022, at 6:05 pm, two persons attended the Belleville Police Service to report an assault that occurred earlier. The victim advised they had been threatened and assaulted with a weapon by a male. As a result of the investigation, twenty-year-old Brendan Chamberlain of Corbyville, Ontario, was arrested and charged with Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose, Assault with a Weapon, and Utter Threats.  Chamberlain was later released with a court date of June 20th, 2022. 

Theft

On the night of May 14th, 2022, unknown suspects stole a Yellow 2012 Suzuki 125 motocross/dirt motorcycle from a residence on Casey Road, Belleville, Ontario.  Anyone with information, please call the Belleville Police at 613-966-0882 or Quinte Crime Stoppers.
