Total calls for service – Belleville Police responded to 170 calls for service over a 72-hour period beginning at 5:00 am on the 13th of May, 2022 to 5:00 am on the 16th of May, 2022.

Domestic Assault

On the 14th of May 2022 at 12:30 am Belleville police attended an address on Dunbar Street Belleville, Ontario in regards to a domestic dispute. Upon arrival, police spoke to one of the parties who provided information that they had been assaulted by their partner. As a result, a twenty-six-year-old male Belleville, Ontario resident was arrested for domestic assault. Further investigation revealed that the accused was on a condition to not be around the victim due to another incident. As a result, the accused was charged with one count of assault and one count of breaching an undertaking. The male was later released with a court date of the 6th of June, 2022. His name is not being released to protect the identity of the victim.  

Arrest on Warrants

On the 14th of May 2022 at 12:15 am Belleville Police were informed by the Toronto Police Service that they currently had a male in custody wanted by the Belleville Police. Thirty-year-old Jesse scullion of no fixed address was wanted for careless use of a firearm, pointing a firearm, weapons dangerous, carrying a concealed weapon, and unauthorized possession of a firearm. Scullion was held for a show cause hearing on the 14th of May 2022.

Theft

On the 14th of May 2022 at 7:39 am Belleville Police were called to an east end location for a report of a theft of a bicycle. Police received information that a male had stolen the complainant’s bicycle and was known to the victim. Police located the male on the stolen bicycle on the 15th of May, 2022 at 1:15 pm. A short chase ensued, but he was captured and arrested for the theft. David Robertson, a fifty-year-old male from Belleville, Ontario was charged with theft and later released with a court date of the 16th of June 2022.
